About Me

Hi, I’m Chris Nowlin. I’m an instructional designer based in North Carolina. As a former educator with four years of classroom experience, I am very familiar with the importance of quality instruction and engaging learning experiences.

The Covid lockdowns were tough on everyone. As an educator, it proved to be quite the challenge to be asked to completely change my instruction modality in such a short period of time. However, my Masters in Instructional Technology and certificate in Computer-based Instruction, left me uniquely positioned to not only adapt to the new remote instruction model but to thrive as we moved to a hybrid model as the restrictions lifted. My familiarity and comfort with instructional design best practices provided me many opportunities to assist those around me that were struggling to make the transition ensure that their instruction maintained as much effectiveness as it could in the new mode of delivery. Be it remote, hybrid, or in person I wanted to ensure my students were getting the best of me.

Throughout my career, I have developed a love of teaching, technology, and design that I am able to utilize in eLearning development. In my free time, I enjoy board games, reading, and spending time with family. I am a strong believer in the importance of being a life long learner, so in addition to my normal forms of entertainment I can often be found soaking up as much as I can about whatever topic or hobby has captured my attention that week.
